8. Toss in some text!
  • It's almost the end of the road!  All you need to do now is check the picture for little errors (little uncolored spots or any other minor forgottens), and then add some writing on the wall.
  • Now the writing is obviously optional : write anything you feel like using the Text tool.  But I included this section because I need to remind you folks out there...  SIGN YOUR ARTWORK!  You don't want people taking it, and you should have credit on your own work.  It can be small and out of the way or big and guady, but for the love of God sign your work!
  • SAVE YOUR FILE!!!
  • Now, the version you just saved was the high resolution version : 300 dpi is magazine-quality printing, after all, but not really appropriate for the internet.  Go to Image --> Image Size and reduce your pic to whatever size you think would be good for the web (I like mine at a width of 800, or around there anyhoo; not more than 3/4 of a megabyte in memory-size).
  • Save your final file under a different name and preferably as a JPEG format file.  You are now done and ready to gloat to your pals on the net!  Enjoy!!!

NOTE!
While trying to save you may have a problem of not seeing the option to save in JPEG format.  This is most likely caused by extra layers or channels since JPEGs and similar files can't save those options.  To clean this up just a.) for layers go to Layers --> Flatten Image and your layers will merge into one picture, or b.) for channels go to the Channel window and click on a channel, then click on the "delete channel" trashcan icon at the bottom, and repeat this for all the channels except for RGB, Red, Green, and Blue.

A little text and a signature has ben added
to the mix.
