4. Let's put some color in her cheeks!
  • By now you've got all the channels you want for her.  Now we have to give her body some hues.  Time to make those channels get some excercise...
    • To activate a channel, click on it while holding the <ctrl> button.  Your channel will now have marching ants crawling all over it.  This means that the channel you chose it the only thing active in the entire picture.
    • Go to the color picker on your task bar and click the foreground color box.  A large menu with a choice of colors will appear : find the general color you want for her selected part (i.e. a single tone of peach for skin, a single tone of brown for boots, etc...) and click it.
    • To fill the selected spot with your desired color, click <alt>-<backspace> together, and your color should now occupy the selected area.
    • Repeat these steps for each channel, until all parts have a color in them.
  • When you're done then SAVE!!!

NOTE!
When you fill your character's head, chances are his or her eyes will fill in as flesh tone as well, since not everyone closes off the eyes in solid black lines .  To alleviate this common problem, choose the color white for your foreground color, then use the pencil or paintbrush tool and, while the head area is selected, draw in white where the eye-whites should be.

At this point she's got all her channels and parts colored,
nothing great and all quite flat, but it's a building-
block for what's to come.
